Marian University’s Experiential Learning Grants Program enables students to develop knowledge, skills, and values from direct experiences outside a traditional academic setting. Experiential learning activities include internships, service learning, undergraduate research, study abroad, and other creative and professional work experiences. These experiences stimulate academic inquiry by promoting interdisciplinary learning, civic engagement, career development, cultural awareness, leadership, and other professional and intellectual skills. Marian understands that financial obligations may be associated with some of these activities, and wants to assist in aiding students in their endeavors for academic growth.

- Student Social Work Association for “Infamous Mothers” – “Infamous Mothers” is a book, and recently written for the stage, about twenty mothers who are from the fringes of society. They are teen mothers, sex workers, drug abusers, single mothers, and baby mommas. And all of them are black. From the fringes they have overcome the odds and created new endings for themselves. They survived. These women are teachers, attorneys, doctors, nurses, actors, photographers, and writers.
