EXCEL Program

The EXCEL Program is a one-year program designed to provide students entering their first year of college with support and encouragement in their transition to the college experience. The purpose of the EXCEL Program is to set clear expectations for academic performance, to provide opportunities for greater individualized learning and extra academic support, and promote the utilization of important campus resources and services so that students may gain the skills and strategies they will need to achieve both academic and personal success.

Through the EXCEL Program students are encouraged to take responsibility for their college career by participating in orientation, atttending mandatory bi-weekly meetings with their advisor, utilizing the necessary campus resources and services available to them, actively participating in the classroom and communicating openly with their professors, setting and striving toward both academic and personal goals, remaining connected and informed through EXCEL Program meetings.

It is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to discover the EXCEL Program! The college journey is an exciting and unique life venture for which the EXCEL Program provides students with transitional support. Guided by both fellow peers and myself as advisor, students beginning their college experience are encouraged to remain connected and take responsibility for their academic and personal success.

I invite and encourage you to take a moment to consider whether the EXCEL Program may be a good fit for you. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I would love to hear from you!
