OnlineAttendance

‚ÄčONLINE ATTENDANCE (important compliance requirement)

  • Record attendance so that Marian University is in compliance with federal regulations.
  • Your recorded attendance is used by the Office of the Registrar and the Office of Business and Finance to validate registration.  Your prompt data entry is important and appreciated.
  • Attendance for each class meeting date must be recorded online through your SabreNet account.
  • Review your "Daily Attendance" screen in SabreNet to check for any date with a red asterisk ( * ) besides it which indicates that there is missing student attendance for that particular date.
  • It is to the benefit of the student who is receiving Financial Aid to have accurately recorded attendance.
  • Validation of Enrollment/Non Attendance Policy:  As an instructor you have the authority to request that the Registrar administratively drop a student from your course if the student has not attended the first session of a course that meets once each week, or the student has attended neither of the first two sessions of a course that meets more frequently than once a week, and has not notified the instructor.
  • Administrative drops can only be requested during the add/drop period for traditional courses and during the first week of courses for all other programs.  After that time period just continue to record the student absence if they do not attend.  Students who fail your course due to non-attendance should receive a final grade of "FN."
  • How to Request an Administrative Drop:  Go to Grading and Attendance in SabreNet.  From the Overall Attendance drop down box you can select "Admin. Drop."  You must also fill in the "Last Date Attended.  You may use the "start date" of your course as the Last Date attended for those students who never attended.
  • Please read the document guides or view the Video Tutorials at https://selfservice.marianuniversity.edu/SelfService/Home.aspx for detailed attendance instructions for:
    • Recording attendance
    • Recording an Administrative Drop
    • Recording the Last Date Attended
