MEET THE NEWEST SABRES
Zach Jamieson, Assistant Professor, Chemistry
Zach is from West Bend, WI. He enjoys teaching chemistry, as well as engineering, process design/optimization, and CAD. Besides chemistry, he enjoys competitive marksmanship, CAD design, drawing, 3D printing, cigars, and reading. He comes from a Catholic family and enjoys learning more about his Catholic faith. Perch is his go-to fish in a fish fry, although in a pinch, haddock would suffice.
Katie Fabricius, Director of Math and Science Services
Katie grew up in Fond du Lac and attended St. Norbert College, where she earned her B.S. in Chemistry. She has a wide array of interests, including piano, singing, working out, crochet, and water skiing. She is excited to help all students succeed in higher ed.
Danielle Schaal, Assistant Professor, Biology
Danielle is originally from Arkansas, where she completed her bachelor’s in Biology before traveling further south to Louisiana to complete her PhD in Microbiology and Immunology. Her research focused on understanding the lifecycle of cancer-causing viruses within the oral epithelium to determine specific host proteins required for their replication. Aside from teaching, she enjoys hiking, painting, going to concerts, or enjoying crab, and crawfish boils with friends and family.
Josh Carey, Groundskeeper
Josh was born in Seoul, South Korea. He moved around as a child and landed in Fond du Lac in the 90’s, where he attended elementary and middle school and was the first graduating class from the new high school. He moved around the country, but gravitated back to this area. Josh and his wife, children and dogs live in Campbellsport. They love the outdoors, art and music (although he says he can’t carry a tune). Josh also loves to work on, customize and race all types of motorcycles. Deep friend perch is his fish fry fish.
Aracely Torres, Financial Aid Counselor
Aracely was born in Milwaukee, but grew up in Fond du Lac, since age four. She has two sisters (Eliana and Nora) and two brothers (Francisco and Emiliano) and she is the oldest in her family. Her big news (besides a new job at Marian)? She was recently engaged during the solar eclipse in Indiana, last April and her wedding date is May 17th, 2025! She enjoys biking, walks in nature, documentaries, drawing, and going to church. She and her finance have adopted six kitties, which, she says are a lot of work – but are worth it.
Stephanie Trendowski, Assistant Professor, Business
Stephanie has been teaching business in higher education for seven years, in the field of business. Outside of being a professor, she is a Maternal Health Ambassador, community leader as one of the Northwest Indiana (NWI) Influential Women, and 20 under 40 in Business. She resides in Crown Point Indiana with her family and rescue dogs and spends four days a week as a Fond du Lac resident. Her hobbies include traveling, both domestically and internationally, reading, spending time with her 8-year-old daughter, going to the beach at Lake Michigan, volunteering for animal rescue, puzzles, and crafting. She’s not picky about the fish fry fish. Her favorite is fish and chips in Ireland.
