Veteran Affairs

The academic programs of study at Marian University are approved by the Wisconsin State Approving Agency (SAA) of the Wisconsin Department of Veteran Affairs (WDVA) for enrollment of persons eligible to receive educational benefits under the Montgomery GI Bill.  Before the beginning of each semester (Fall, Spring and Summer), the School Certifying Official will certify only those students who are admitted to a degree or licensure program and who are making satisfactory progress as determined by College policy.  The Certification of Enrollment is necessary before educational benefit payments can be received.

Licensure Programs may be approved for veterans’ benefits if and only if:

  • Credits are counted toward fulfillment of an approved degree program, or

  • Credits are required for permit or license to practice a profession by the State of Wisconsin, or

  • Credits are necessary to secure employment in a chosen occupational area.

Students are encouraged to look into financial aid since VA benefits may not cover all educational costs.  Benefit coverage depends on which educational assistance program the veteran applied for.
