Why should people join?

SMA provides a positive and welcoming environment for students to explore interests, either tangentially or directly, related to science and math as well as all students. SMA has a desire to enrich the community by participating in on-campus and off campus activities. SMA was the recipient of the President's Cup Award for Most Outstanding Student Organization in 2008, 2009, and 2017.

Major Events/Activities:

  • Freezin' for a Reason at Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Wisconsin
  • Highway Cleanup
  • Pi Day and Mole Day Bake Sales
  • Pumpkin Carving
  • Science Demo Hours on campus
  • Volunteering at The Wisconsin Science Festival, Science Olympiad, and Badger State Science & Engineering Fair
  • Trip to Chicago to visit museums such as Museum of Science and Industry, Shedd Aquarium, and the Planetarium

Who can join?

Anyone is welcome to join, it does help to have an interest in science and/or math but is not necessary.
