Graduation Honors at Commencement

For a student’s name to be announced at commencement either
- with Latin honors, “Cum Laude,” “Magna Cum Laude,” or “Summa Cum Laude,” the student must have earned at least a cumulative 3.50 institutional GPA by November 1 for fall commencement, and must be expected to have completed by commencement a minimum of 60 credits while enrolled at Marian University
- Cum Laude 3.5 to 3.74 GPA
- Magna Cum Laude 3.75 to 3.89 GPA
- Summa Cum Laude 3.90 GPA and above
- with the graduation honor, “With Distinction,” the student must have earned at least a 3.75 cumulative institutional GPA by April 1 for spring commencement or November 1 for fall commencement, and must be expected to have completed by commencement 44 – 59 credits while enrolled at Marian University.
