Purpose of the Marian Cares Team

The Marian Cares Team is a collaborative committee of university officials who provide a proactive and supportive “first alert” multidisciplinary team approach to prevention, assessment and intervention of individuals who may pose a threat to the safety and wellbeing of the university community. The Marian Cares Team helps to prevent individuals from harming themselves or others, and generally assists persons in need.

Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to refer important but not life threatening student behavioral concerns via the Marian Cares Form.

Concerning student behavior examples include:

Threatening student behavior examples include:

Program Deans and faculty who develop a student behavioral plan to address classroom disruptions are encouraged to complete the Marian Cares form and share the student behavioral plan with members of the Marian Cares Intervention Team.
