The Learning and Writing Center
The Learning and Writing Center is located on the second floor of the library and the Virtual Writing Center is located within MO2. Through these locations, peers provide support and guidance in multiple academic areas including: math, science, writing, reading, and study skills. The support is provided through one on one in-person or virtual academic support sessions, short question and answer sessions, supplemental instruction, hour long seminars, online tutorials, and virtual submissions. The academic support being offered is available to all students, staff, professors, and alumni. Students at every level of college and in every major are encouraged to utilize the support provided by the Learning and Writing Center.
Who should use?
- Everyone! Marian’s Learning and Writing Center is for all students.
- Students should use it for assistance with academic subjects as well as learning strategies for developing more effective learning techniques that align with each student’s professional goals.
Why should you use?
- To enhance current skills and make success and goal achievement more likely.
- Utilizing academic support isn’t about what happened in the past, it is about advancing in the future
When should you use?
- Anytime! Along with direct/immediate support, the Learning and Writing Center offers indirect/passive support 24 hours a day.
- Indirect/passive support is offered through the Virtual Writing Center
How to Access?
- Schedule a one on one in-person or virtual session for all academic subjects
- Visit/enroll in the Virtual Writing Center for asking questions, online tutorials, and virtual submissions
- Visit the Learning and Writing Center throughout the semester
